spare key

Post by Motocod »

For the life of me I don't know where my spare key is, so looking at getting one cut, using one of these:

Silly question perhaps, but I assume there is no chip or anything daft like that in the key?

Don't think there is in my 02 BCR as one of the spare keys is just a metal key, with no rubber bit.

The main two keys look just like the one in the above link.

Do you have some kind of aftermarket device on your bike? what does it do?
There's no mention of an immobilizer or anything in the 2004 owner's manual.

I'm just going on the assumption that it appeared impossible (after several attempts) to get a normal key cut, which would operate the ignition.

But - unless it shows on the wiring diagram, then I think you can safely say that I have thrown you a "wobbly ball"

Just to follow up on this, I purchased the above and had it cut locally, and it works fine.
