Hi Keith,
The "Comfort Bar Kit" from BMW comes with the bars, screen and extended brake hose. I got mine second hand for £150 but someone said the kit costs £400 new from BMW.
No cables need extending but the Heated Grips cable needs re-routing slightly.
To be honest, this new Sargent seat is actually firmer than the original, so if you're after something that is very soft, you might want to look at gel-seats. As for height, it makes no discernible difference, BUT you can ask Sargent to make your seat height lower during manufacture.
I've had 3 and ONE of them had problems with the cradle. I've mounted my new one so that it lays flat against the "troublesome" contact pins. No probs here!
I use Castrol GP. Leave your oil change until you're ready to start riding again. http://www.castrol.com/liveassets/bp_internet/castrol/castrol_italy/STAGING/local_assets/images/products/products_images/2006_GP_packshot_castrol_it_180x300.jpg
During the winter storage, I would spin the engine ...
Jason, a shorter link piece would make the bike taller. :?
Wicker, I too sit at the forward edge of the seat, so most of the seat is actually wasted on me :). A guy I know from Rivington Barn has fitted the Wunderlich yoke conversion which allows the fitting of virtually any type of bars which ...
TwoDear - I can't see how you shortened the link (unless you have an adjustable link, which is an accessory). There certainly appears to be no adjustability on mine....
With 29" inside leg, I find the seat height of the R1100S a little on the high side. Can the suspension be lowered somehow? I don't want to change my seat cos' I just splashed out on a new Sargent.
I recently got a puncture in my rear Michelin Pilot Sport, so I took the opportunity to fit a new BT020 for the wet winter months - great tyre! I'll probably put the repaired Sport back on in the Summer.
Good stuff! I'll have a look this weekend. Meanwhile, here's a pic of my mounting position. I drilled 2 small holes into the yoke and bolted the TTR mount there. What I like about this is the fact that the TTR lays flat and has less chance of developing the connection-loss fault that I suffered with ...
Hi, I want to connect my TomTom Rider to a 12v supply that is live only when the ignition is on. Ideally, I'm looking to break into a cable at the front of the bike and with the easiest access. The TTR does not draw a lot of power, so any source will do nicely.
