Any suggestions on fitting a rider?
I like the 'secure' look of the Touratech stuff but not too keen on their 6 month backlog.

Apart from the advice: Don't buy one...............
Have a look at the GPS section of UKGSers site - someone there is punting securing straps to prevent fretting of contacts and losing of the entire unit.
other than that interface, have a look at:

If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........
See if that works .....

Techmount
Hi, I have used a Rider for nearly 2 years including over 7000 miles around europe. Initially had a few power problems, but none now. Its mounted on a Techmount FC1 which mounts into the top of the fork leg replacing the plastic cap. B****y expensive but really well made and looks almost OEM.

TomTom Rider
Thats exactly the problem I had. The first time I came back from Austria with insulating tape over the pins ... not ideal, but no problems. I had it wired into the rear light for a power source, but now I have it straight to the battery via a relay. Seems to be OK now, but then I always have a strip of tape on the back just in case! I don't use the audio as I find it distracting, for me a glance at the map is all I want. So not have Bluetooth enabled probably saves battery life as well. Not hanging up on a call is a common problem on Bluetooth devices, not just the Rider. Let me know if you want any pics of teh mounting.
