Tyre choice - best for all round use ?

Another question guys. Which tyres would you suggest are best for all round use. I am more concerned about grip in the wet , predictability and durability than outright performance at crazy lean angles.
Any suggestions gratefully received

bridgestone bt020 or michelin pilot road seem to be the two tyres of choice for wet/all year riding. Although i believe new versions of both are due out in January 2007

I've used Pilot Roads for past few years on my Fazer 600 and S (S since May 06). I chose them for all round use, good milage (mainly user the Fazer to commute to London and keep them for approx 2 years (about 15K) out of them - not too bothered about the squaring as bike will spend most of it's time upright). They get a bit twitchy when cold but nothing unsafe - they are just letting you know be careful.
I may well try 020 next but was not aware that new rubber is due out next year so will see what's what. Still got a year or so to decide on the curent rubber !!

I recently got a puncture in my rear Michelin Pilot Sport, so I took the opportunity to fit a new BT020 for the wet winter months - great tyre! I'll probably put the repaired Sport back on in the Summer.

Winger it's all well and good leaving us with tit-bits about a new tyre appearing in February from manufacturer unknown, however £200 on a new set of hoops is not an inconsequential purchase for some of us.

I assume there'll be free sets all round, on launch, so as to generate plenty of positive feedback?

If you look at any tyre thread on this board,you'll find very little input from me,tyres are a personnel thing,you'll have seen else were i had to sign a letter to stay mum,and for the sake of a couple of weeks you'll have to wait,you'll also notice i haven't come on here,telling all and sundry their the best thing since sliced bread,but their an interesting option.

I've made my opinions known to the manafacturer,as has another gent who has them on a trick Guzzi,but sells Ducati's!!,the irony of it is,i got targeted as i'm a dyed in the wool Bridgstone man(02 fronted excluded).

It's been a strange year tyre wise,have been asked to put a couple of thousand miles on a tyre,only to ask what happened,'Oh they cut it up just to have a look'!!! and the second set some thing totally different,which i certainley wasn't very keen to use,that are fitted as stock fitment on a bike that's exspect to do minimal miles,turned out to be a gem,the back's got 3,000 on it,done in tempreatures of over 40c and still only half worn!!!

As for free anything,it's took me over 30 years to get my foot stuck in various doors,there ain't no such thing as a free lunch,although i do get close to it from time to time!!.
