For those that do their own servicing, Laser Tools have released a long reach spark plug socket that is perfect for Boxer Twins.

1. It's overall diameter is less than a tradition 3/8" socket so it doesn't rub against the sides of the hole in the cylinder head.

2. It's plenty long enough to need no extension bars at all

3. It holds on to the spark plug through magnetism rather than the friction from a rubber insert - so no more withdrawing the tool to find the rubber left behind on the plug insulator

Halfords are selling them about 9 quid each. As well as the 10mm we need for the bike, they also do 8mm and 14mm sizes if you've got a car with awkward plug access.
