Factory fitted alarm / heated grips

Post by scottie58 »

Dash warning DWA! is active which the book tells me is the alarm battery.

Are they easy to replace or is it a dealer job?

heated grips - very worn after 51K - can you replace just the grips?

thanks

No idea on the alarm issue as I don't have one. I just use attack geese!
Yes, the grips can be replaced.
For the 1200,
Left grip £66
Right grip £92
The 1100 prices won't be far different I wouldn't have thunk!

Grips: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Replacement-r ... cSDsIKaUdQ

Recommend you remove throttle grip completely so as not to risk damaging the plastics where cable loops in (I learnt hard way); these need heating well prior to putting on...still a pain either way...have fun (be warned you will use bad language but good end result).

Ps there is an associated YouTube clip - ask seller for it.

The easiest grip renewal option is to fit a pair of Grip Puppies over you're existing grips, see http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... acat=10063.
I like these so much i now have them on my 3 R12's.
