R1100S Fuel couplings to aid tank removal

Post by A.J.T »

Having struggled a couple of times to remove the fuel tank on my R1100S, I thought I might fit one (or maybe two) of these:

Is this the right product? Do I need one or two?

You need two of the items listed . I'm sure I read somewhere that the plastic versions can fracture although I do use them myself ... replaced a couple of times over the years though.

I bought a pair of the metal couplings to fit when I changes the fuel filter. Couldn't find enough room for them under the tank  so stuck with the original set up and sold the couplings on.
