Top gear ratio

Post by Motocod »

Anyone else always going for a non-existent extra top gear on the motorway? Can't help feeling that at 85-90 that it's buzzing a bit high - 4500rpm or so, and it feels like it wants another gear for more refined cruising.

Silly question, but is it possible to alter the final drive ratio? Not that I'd want to spoil the acceleration low down...

Maybe a final drive from a K1200RS?
I have no idea what the ratio is on them, but the top speed is higher, so that gives a hint.
Lots of questions to this:
does the FD fit to your swingarm? If it does, does the wheel fit? If it does, do the front/rear wheels lineup? (not sure if this is the right word for it, but i'm sure you understand what i mean)
