Oil light staying on

Post by Motocod »

As above - happened a couple of times lately, and yes, the bike does have oil in it!

It's happened after being sat in heavy rain, or after I've washed it. Is there a connector that's prone to getting water in it? Something I need to check?

Thanks,

Nik

Hi
The wire connected to the oil pressure switch . Pull it off , give it a clean and spray with WD40 or similar on a regualr basis .

Happened to me after washing the bike when engine hadn't cooled down enough, had to replace the oil pressure switch itself.

Thanks chaps.

I'll take a closer look at the oil pressure switch, and associated wiring.

What gus said.

Also, just check this too, (happened to me on the other bike) there is an oil temperature probe that keeps the oil circuit half closed when the engine is cold.

The probe failed on my bike and the oil light kept coming up, even if there was oil in it.
Changed the probe and fixed the problem.
