Rear Sub-Frame

Post by Bikerhoss »

Not sure this is strictly tech, probably more pix, but anyway....

I spotted a rear sub-frame on eBay today, which I see has ended (£65, collection only), and am very chuffed I saved the pennies!
I got fed up looking at my rusty frame, so dismantled the R11's arse yesterday

and after much scraping and sanding, then painting, I ended up with this

So if anyone is contemplating removing their sub-frame, go for it, I only had one sheared bolt (bottom left), & will need to rewire the indicators as last owner put custom tiny things on, but it's not as daunting as you i might imagine

Nice work BHoss, A helpfull suggestion may be to finish it with a two part Oil and petrol resistant lacquer?
Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)

started out with nothing, still have most of it left.

Looks good BH. Mine's a bit scabby too - that's why I got an ABBA stand to replace the NWS paddock jobby. You've reminded me that it ain't gonna do itself...

Had mine done last year same time as the Cat removal. Its not that bad. And I now have a spare subframe that aside from wanting a light sanding and powder coat, is ready to go back on a bike as and when.
Bring on the Pipe and Slippers.
