BMW F800R

Post by Dai wiskers »

I have been asked if a F800R is worth buying it's on a 09 plate and apparently had software update so no stalling problems

I have no idea about price or miles or the bike in general so if anyone knows please tell

Cheers Dai

I got an F800R from Motorrad Central when my GS was being serviced.

Took it for a run to Galashiels and Jedburgh - to see Boxerscott.

Not too impressed with the bike - to be honest. Found the steering to be a bit dead, and the performance poor.

That said - I've never ridden anything with less power than the R1100s since passing my test.

Would make a good commuter - but other than that?.............. :?

Then plug me back in..........

See if that works .....

Popsky is the man to ask, his good lady wife has one, `only` 87bhp but that little bike was non too shabby on the welsh weekend..more than kept up with the bigger bikes..

maybe that the pilot was a nutter of course..

She resembles that remark :D

Very good bike, more than capable of showing up bigger capacity machines, Karen finds it very comfy, extra low seat fitted, suspension is budget and very limited in adjustment, though saying that seems to be pretty good as std, there is a vibration issue but I don't think its too much of a problem, 500+ miles in a day, not too shabby for a "urban" bike, the gearbox does have a tendency to find the odd false neutral when pushing on a bit,

Good mpg when cruising.

As for prices, not got a clue as she doesn't want to sell it.
Phil.

I had one for a half day a couple of years ago , didn't feel fast but the speedo suggested it was , stopped nicely too and didn't need to stop at petrol stations even when pressing on. Overall a bit like a CB 500 on steroids.
Far too expensive in this part of the world though..
