My brother in law has an R1200C cruiser which has an intermittent problem. Sometimes it starts sometimes it clicks. He has had it on the Optimate and it supposedly has a healthy battery. It has only done about 11K. The ABS light stays on sometimes and his side lights blow fuses. He has taken the starter motor off and it spins up OK. Where do we start from here.
clicking in combination with blowing bulbs sounds like an earthing fault to me. check battery connection to ground and same for starter motor. Others will be along with more suggestions shortly.
All problems can be fixed with the correct application of a big enough hammer.
