Ventura Rack, reversed? - R1200S

Post by hirsty »

Hello,

Can any of you Ventura users with an R12S tell me whether the optional Sport-Rack can be reversed please?

It appears from the pictures (never seen one in the flesh) that the rear rack could be spun around and mounted forward-facing instead, rather than hanging out over the back?

I have a small but valuable bag for taking to work, and I'd rather it was resting 'against the bar' for peace of mind. There looks to be just enough clearance over the top of the pillion pad (and I don't do passengers...)

Thanks in advance.

being lower down the food chain on my r1100s all i can offer is yes, it is reversible on the version fitted to my mount.
I see no reason why it shouldnt be on the 1200, on the blurb that came with mine it justs states if not carrying baggage ( pillion ) it can be reversed to alter the c o g

Thanks very much - looking forward to my rack arriving asap, proving tricky to get to work at the moment with no luggage or rucksack!

Will post photos when fitted.

Cheers all.
