Looks very nice Geoff ...

You going to be doing any overland mods (bottomless and wasteful pit) or going standard?

Nothing serious Lee, .... Crash Bars (not the Triumph or Touratech ones), .. parallel Clutch Cable, ...... err, a couple of extra Electrical Sockets ... and maybe a Gel Battrey if I get a 'freebie'. Thats it really, .. Ride and Go. We'll work out the rest somewhere along the way. Triumph but some very good minds into developing a decent Bike (not ideal but its the only bike Al will fit on) .. so who am I to f**k it up by thinking I know better than those boffins at Hinckley?

Were leaving Darlington on 23rd April,.. then over to Boot in eskdale via Scotland. Hope to then drop down to Wales and meet the Boxertrix weekend before the press send-off at the Ace Cafe (date TBA). I hope Mark can make it to Boot,.. but his life seems less organised than my own. Would be great to have you with us again, ... 'Viva Hap Hazard'
Sailing from Dover on 1st May.

Yep, keep it simple - you can bet the things you mod will break first!

Doubling up the cables is a good idea ... spare levers cable tied to the frame is another nice touch (out of view and there when you need them).

You've got fork gaiters already so I'd say you are good to go

Some people take spare ECUs - but whatever you take won't be the thing you need.

Will have to join you on the 1st of May if that's OK? Be good to ride a fews days and then blat back on the Sunday. If that's OK with 'Team Half Hap Hazard' that is?

Best of luck with the battery,i could write war and piece about replaceing my YB14(original) there are a few about with some dubious quality, but i still haven't come with a satisfactory conclusion.

Re the crash bars, you'll need summat just to keep the rad and tank away from the ground, there's one made in New Zealand that look shit but probably works well, best of luck if you ever fall off it,their a right bastard to pick up.

Thanks Winger. Using the 'Triumph-on-line' crash bars, .. not sure who makes them,. but all the others seem to attatch to the sump, ... not an ideal fixing point for dropping a bike on.

Might stick with original battery, .. nowt wrong with it,.. just cautious really.

Lee,. happy for you to join us for as long as you like mate. It'll be good following Alan in France. France is 1 of the cuntries he hasn't visited yet Come to think of it,.. that list includes every country excpet for England, Wales and Scotland.

With Geoff trapped between the bike and the ground I don't think there will be any damage issues

Good show - I'll stick it in me diary but let me know if the 'military planning' slips and the milestone on your Gantt chart moves out :D

And good for Alan ... he is a hero in my book. Hope he has the beans and cornflakes packed

The Triumph on line are Hepco +B,wasn't too happy with the way they point foraward they'll make a nice scoop when slideing along the floor,,i had a guy reverse into me last year he clipped the front of my crash bar, look on his face when he realised he had a 2x4" hole in his rear wing was a hoot.

I'll just try not to Drop It, .... once I get my Platform Bike Boots I should be ok.

Possibly obtaining 'Free Stuff' from 'Triumph On-Line' so as far as I am concerned, ... no better products exist in this world other than those which grace the pages of their wonderful catalogue... 'Tiumph On Line',.. The Laminated Book of Dreams, .. as Bill Bailey would call it.

Can't argue with that, his price is cheap even if you had to buy e'm,i'd bum a battery of him as well while your at it,although the originals are maintenance free, and mines still going after nearly 7 years.

Ask him about the dual relays so you can have both headlight beams on at the same time,he flogs those as well,i'd change the front oil as well for 15wt and some stiffer fork springs, the set up will be stiff on a winters day, spot on when things warm up.

My Tiger has had one blip, the female connectors on the fuel tank, one sheared off and dumped 5 gallons of fuel on the floor, they cost peanuts to buy,but like asking for rocking horse shit miles from a Triumph dealer, carry a spare just in case,it's only when you start asking questions, when you get the 'I've had that as well routine'

I've got several 18 tooth front sprockets if you want e'm,with hardly a mark on e'm,most people use 19's but that'll be to much if your shovelling shit off road.

Winger, .. already done the 'relay' for the twin lights. I took it 'off-road' at weekend,.... not too bad actually,.. except a bit 'Leary' in deep gravel. It is over geared in 1st though. So a pair of front 18's would be greatly appreciated. Probably run on 19's to Irkutsk then change both bikes to 18's for the rougher stuff. If you don't want them the let me know and I'll sort out postage and address etc. (really Appreciated, .. but No Rush)

I think I'll stick with original battery, .. but if i get a 'freebie',.. then Hey Ho.
