R1200s in Performance Bikes

Post by stoney »

The 'Baron' takes the R1200s around the Nurburgring in this month's Performance Bikes magazine (848 on cover). He did it in 7.49 - just 9/10ths slower than the KTM superduke.

Overall they really liked the bike.

Haven't bought PB in years but got a prescription for xmas  ,it's changed a bit over the years not necessarily for the better.... Although the photoshopped "what it would look like today" RD500 looks interesting(previous months issue)
The other times that caught my attention (apart from the 312mv) were the 675 daytona ,the Tuono and strangely the 600 hornet.

The 'Baron' is a ring legend and can certainly ride a bike fast. The trip from his place to the ring is about 20 mins bike ride - he's done it in 7 mins and has the on-board video to prove it!!!

Rode on the Ring myself back in the days on a p.o.s. Kawi Z550...;-)
The Ring is very dangerous for a motorcycle with all the close armco but an experience not to miss nevertheless...Nice countryside, friendly people, good food and beer...
Fastest twin was not the 1098 the baron disliked but the Mille R with a 7,32.Faster than the 1098.Power is not everything...
