Remus headers

Post by rickers »

I am sure someone has probably asked this question already but -
I am about to fit Remus headers with Y-piece. What sealant would you use, if any, on the Y-piece? I would normally use some copperslip anti-sieze but wonder if other members can advise please?

Assuming the pipes are a decent fit, I'd be more inclined to use an anti-seize product - makes it easier to remove in future. Copaslip would be okay. White lead is ideal on high temperature stuff like exhaust studs, but I don't know if it's still available...being lead and that (tastes horrible).
'Hinterachsge' translates as 'rear axle'.(Not 'Differential', so f*** off)

Thanks for that. All the bikes I have owned in the past have had proper clamps on the exhaust joints and I am unused to these ones with springs securing them and was concerned about leakage at the Y-piece. However, bearing in mind that the standard outlet from the Cat uses springs and no clamp, then I suspect sealant would make little difference. I will go with the Copaslip!

Cheers
