While this may make some of you cringe, it is possible to reattach the mirror to the stick by using a hole saw on the front part of the mirror body and gain access to the area inside. With imagination the remaining hole could be covered with a sticker or badge...or you could just say that you were removing excess material to make the bike as light as possible.
If enough is enough and more is better than too much should be just about right.

I apologise in advance...

I note that the mounting screws have star type heads...

Can I attempt removal with a flat head (carefully), or should one acquire the correct star type driver head...
