Thank you chaps very funny! I am selling the sofa bed on ebay and it was the easiest way to get the photos to my other pc.

Although sometimes the R1200S handles like a sofa bed after my R1.
The std bars are very uncomfortable and not much fun. Fat bars make it much more manouverable.

I have uploaded some pictures of me sitting on the said sofa, LOL.

Sorry Richard- it was a tough one to resist (and I failed)

Interested that you had an R1. What year was it and how did you find it generally and what's your honest opinion of its comparison with the R1200s? Do you sometimes wish you had the R1 still?

Reason is........... I'm thinking of changing the Daytona for an R1 (prob a 2006 model) as they are both the comfiest bikes in their class (apparently)

I really don't want an R1200s (although I thought it handled like a dream) - it would be a bit an*l to have all BMW bikes.

I had a 2001 R1 which I bought 1 year ago with 547 miles (yes the bloke shat himself but kept it). I quite liked it but it was a bit boring and I was going to lose my licence as I was flat out everywhere. It wheelies at 85 in second off the throttle which is fun but the R1200S wheelies quite nicely in 2nd as well.

I sold it 3 weeks ago with 3500 miles because I could see it disolving if used in wet or winter weather and it was still immaculate. I do have problems selling bikes as you can see from my picture site (more pics up there now)

Mmmm... I really want to "need" an R1, but it sounds like a 1200s is more useable.

But......... If I had a 1200s, I wouldn't take the BCR out :? Thing is, the BCR tours so well

Bugger! Everything is beginning to point to keeping the bikes I've got!

Daytona - Blasting about the B-roads

BCR - Blasting about the B-roads, A-roads + Touring

GS1200A- Touring (and it's no slouch on the B-roads either)

Bums!

Go on............. get one

Your other half won't notice if you put it in the middle of the other bikes

Just remember............... when she asks if it is new, the response is:

What? That old thing? I've had that for ages!

Go on, go on, go on, go on........................GO ON!

Just get one as a second bike - they tour as well as these aircooled jobbies and you have more fun when you get there :D
