Today I.....

Post by boxerscott »

Knocked out 687miles on my LCR 1200r. Jed to Harlow, across to Northamptons sleepy Farthingstone and back to Jed. Amanda missed a spiffing day out. I managed for once to be going the opposite way to all the road collision closures, A1, M25 and M1 that I encountered. I can advise however that despite the bikes mechanical excellence the headlamp is as much use as a chocolate tea pot.

Oh and I saved £11.5k in the process. Not buying a van that I went purposely to buy. So to comfort myself i am going to buy some Arai bonce adornment.

Now for an Irish victory in Cardiff tomorrow and fingers crossed for England not to be England at Twickenham.

Edit, forgot to add, there were hold ups on M1 Northbound , Bedfordshire and the barstewards have narrowed the lanes so much so that filtering was impossible.

Sounds like a good ride despite the fruitless attempt to buy a new van.

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Something’s not right................

No mention of an off-road excursion, running out of fuel, Gatso’d. Wheel coming loose, Getting lost, or caught short with the squits..........

Amanda must have done the logistics planning.

Not exactly fruitless Paul, despite some frustrating traffic conditions, and pitch black riding for the last 48miles I actually enjoyed
my first ride . Got to see our eldest and helped her resolve an issue. The failed attempt to buy a quality used van was not exactly something i can blame myself for, it was not up to the standard i was obviously expecting. I suspected the van had been clocked, it was wearing different tyres to the ones shodded at the factory. 3 replacement tyres at 28k? on a 3year old vehicle. There was something pathetic about the tyre gloss that had been smeared on as well. Why do they do that?

BLACKAL, GTF.

Btw. Scotland blew a massive victory opportunity at Twickenham.

True, my fears came to fruition with Twickenham though!

A deserved championship for Wales and good luck in September. :D :D

Coming from South Africa in the olden days , there were more folk sitting in the stands for a school boy rugby match ..

Any provincial or Springbok game was packed out, kiddies all sitting on wooden benches on the field behind the posts on either sides ...

Seems a bit sad to see so many empty seats .

Thank God Scotland isn’t reliant on international football for pride.............

The team at Twickenham - did us proud, though. :D

This will be the first year for a while - where I can’t make it down to the south of France when International footie is on.

Nothing better than sitting in an outside bistro/bar - watching it all.
