Seriously, WTF?
Is that a foreign reg on the lorry? (Sorry to spoil it if you haven't watched it yet).
The driver should be castrated just for starters. That has really shitted me up.

It was 1996 and me and the Wife were at our second overnight camping stop in France during a touring holiday.Neil178 wrote:Seriously, WTF?

I woke up about 6am and couldn't get back to sleep, so decided as it was a nice morning, to leave my Wife sleeping and go for a blast around the beautiful roads in the area we were staying in.
It was a good few minutes before I encountered another vehicle and realized my potentially lethal mistake.
I'm sure I don't have to explain what it was.
I'm sure I'll get some abuse for that, but I'm putting my hands up to it at least.
We can all make mistakes.
Even stupid one's

There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

Easily done.slparry wrote: done the same in the USA after pulling out of a car park in a quiet location
The first time I went to France shortly after leaving the ferry, I pulled out on a lorry at a roundabout.
I was looking the wrong way.
I'll never forget the reaction of the French driver.
He stopped, looked at me, smiled and signalled me on my way.
It was as though he was used to it.
Re: Making progress .....
Easy to do I suppose. I've very nearly been guilty when pulling out of fuel stations in rural France. Always on day 2 of any trip when you have settled in a little bit.
