I used the heated grips on the GS today for the first time, on the low setting, no problem but on the higher setting the throttle twist grip went really stiff and would not close on its own, switch back to low and fairly quickly all was back to normal. I know its on the GS but several on here have them, so has anybody else had this happen on 1100s or GS? I have grip puppies fitted as well.

Me too. Common thing it would appear. When I mentioned mine doing it a couple of years back there were a number of others with the same problem. Odly, i can't recall mine doing it at all this year and yet it used to be quite stiff on the return. I think I might have had the whole assembly off the helibars, onto the standard bars and then back onto the helibars again a while back. Perhaps the fiddling cured it.

Thanks for the replies, maybe quite common then, just a bit disconcerting when I released the twist grip approaching a line of traffic and it didn`t slow down
, didn`t have them on the 1100, serves me right for going to the dark side

While i haven't experienced this on the 11s, if its catching on the bar ends, just be a little careful attempting to push & twist the grip; when replacing my grips i applied too much pressure against the grip / plastic housing that connects the cable resulting in me needing to fix it (in essence it would no longer stop where it should have... i luckily got away with it). My recommendation would be to disconnect cable / housing to enable you to grip accordingly. I would also suggest you switch it on high to warm it up; the alternative solution is to get a washer in your bar end to create a small gap (much easier option & would perhaps indicate if this is your problem very quickly).
