Knocking noise from the rear .

Post by GerryB »

I'm out here in Alicante area of Spain .

We went out tuesday , did 150 odd miles , but I noticed a knocking noise at the rear , mostly on the bloody speed bumps in every village ....

I stuck bike on centre stand, and shoock and checked all the obvious ..

Wheel , swing arm , brake torque arm , shocks , tools , sub frame, exhaust ...

Note what I over looked ....

We went out again today and it was worse , and I was thinking diff , universal , bearing

Got home after 130 odd miles , stuck it on stand shook and pulled and checked ... spun the wheel , nothing .

Put my hand on the hugger when standing up , AND IT MOVED !!!!

Bloody hell, checked and found one screw very loose , one slightly loose .... :?

Tightened it up, went off to find the speed bumps and my bloody noise was gone !!!

Ha ha ha , Al , stop worrying ......

The silver ones done loads of miles , so it'd be my fault !!!

Had the fork seals changed by me , the disc bobbins replaced....

When I get back will have to look at a new rear boot !
