R1100s Lifting Handle : does it fit with pannier rail?

Got a technical query? Found another 0.02bhp? Ask/tell the world.

R1100s Lifting Handle : does it fit with pannier rail?

Post by bfisher »

Guys after seeing this on eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Raised-Ha ... XQHDlReRXv) I thought of possibly purchasing BUT upon reading of a few forums elsewhere it's not clear to me if these are simply for when you do not have the pannier rails fitted. Anybody know if this is the case as I do recall struggling when panniers are loaded & getting up on centre stand.... Appreciate advice before I possibly waste my money....ps anyone have a picture of this handle fitted as these don't appear to be common... Brad

No, I think you either have the rails or the handle. I had to take it off my old bike when I fitted the rails.

I removed the lifting handle on mine. It is easier to grab the rear footrest bracket when needing to lift.

As above I don't think the handle fits or is needed when panniers rails are fitted, I've never had rails fitted.
