Booster plugs

Just had an email from Motorworks about their EFI booster plug to smooth out the fuelling on R's and K's. £100 plus post.

Anyone tried them - do they work etc.?

Don't know but I had one of these on an R1100S and it worked really well for about 1/3 of the price.

You want to look for the Accelerator Module.

I used one of the accelerator plugs on my k1200r cost about 30£ delivered, and made it a joy to ride around town, rather than a bucking bronco that it was before.

I have one as featured in the link, there used to be two types, a short plug and one with a probe that could be positioned in the airflow, can feel the difference when fitted.

I had the longer one (from Belgium) fitted to my K1200R-Sport - made a heck of a difference to low-speed running!

The product data states fitting to be easy and only taking around a minute to install on r11** type bikes, anyone installed one?

10 minutes to fit the short plug on the 1100s, its just under the seat.

Biggest part of the job is undoing the body work . Actually installing it is less than 2 minutes.

i put the short one on - im convinced it made a notable difference at lower revs

you can buy the one from sol2 (see the link) and they are £30 ish, takes a few minutes to fit, does make a difference. I'm sure if you do a search you'd find plenty of comments.

in truth it's bit of a blunt tool that tricks the engine management into thinking it's cooler than it is; it does work though, if you change the air filter and exhaust as well as stock set ups.

To clarify the last comment - it will work even if you don't change the air filter and exhaust - it is a blunt tool but does the job. Be prepared for less MPG (Mine went from 48ish to 45ish to the gallon)

i agree about using a bit more fuel, but its definitely smoother, so may be i'm just going faster on it!
