Hello Guys.
I'm now closer to invading Poland, and am the happy owner of an R1100s.
In order to head east at full speed, I am going to raise the bars above the Top yoke. However the lovely braided lines that are fitted to the bike are too short.
The bike is a 2001 non ABS.
Would a set of standard R1100s brake lines be long enough? Does any one fancy a swap?
Brake lines and handlebar raising?

BTW John, do you have the measurements for the lines you fitted?SP250 wrote:Chris

Just modded mine to bars above the yoke and needed longer brake hoses.
Regards John

Not written down, but I will go into the garage and measure them tomorrow for you.
I think I asked for 100mm longer than standard when I had them made up, but one is a little long and the other too short. I also changed the banjo bolt into the master cylinder to a double and ran two lines, one down to each calliper eliminating the T block and the steel bridge piece behind the bottom yoke.

They both measure 77cm from the centre of the banjo at the master cyl, to the centre of same at the calliper. (bearing in mind the calliper one has a right angle bend on it).
I have routed both from the MC over the fairing mounting bracket to the LHS of the bike, before going down to the callipers. On full RHS lock the one is a little tight, but a smoother route and less chafing than one down each side of the fairing bracket.
Hope it helps
