Horn through can-bus

Post by f90x »

If I replace the horn on my R12s with something that has more guts can I just plug it into the canbus plug that it is currently attached to without having to bother with a relay? The existing horn has a can-bus plug but is it actually on the can-bus system?

I think it depends on the size (electrical power) of the horn whether you need a relay or not.

I replaced the one on my R12 with one from Nippy Normans and just brought a Can Bus adaptor, straight swap if a little bit fiddly to re position the horn itself.

Not sure if NN does them any more.
