Post by f90x »

I should know this but having a panic attack. Sure it's 4ltrs in the 12s but having filled it up now thinking I've put too much in. Am I correct with 4ltrs?

Cheers Phil, I thought so, I'm safe. I only did it last September as well. Thought I'd give it some fresh for any new owner even though it was only 3k ago.

Engine oil level check sight glass location is explained on page 90, left hand side at the front of the engine.

I know where the sight glass is Rob. By 'page 90' i'm guessing you mean the owners manual. I didn't have it with me which is why I asked. Also, the sight glass doesn't tell one how much to put in, it's there purely so that one can see if there is enough in the engine when in use. The oil has to be checked hot and that can't be done whilst one is filling it. 'And' the owners manual doesn't give the amount needed until page 126. BTW, you're too bloody late anyway :P

Haha, should've said about the manual, I down loaded from the post and I've probably looked at that more than my original paper one...

Anywhere in the sightglass is fine, but if you fill it to the top of the glass - consumption will be higher.

No problem, and when it gets to half-glass............ will probably not need topping up much at all.

Al :D
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........

See if that works .....
