Louder Exhaust
I was thinking about making my 1200s sound a bit more meaty, but without spending a lot. Would taking off the original end can, gutting it & putting it back on give the bike a louder, sweeter note or make it sound pants? Would it have any detrimental effects? Am I being an idiot?
Thanks guys. I do like the speak softly approach, but twisted a bit. As in, it looks stock, but sounds like a Messerschmitt! I'd like the bike to sound 'BIG' & make my ears prick up.
Gutting the end can isn't too difficult. You give it to your son in law who takes it to work & returns it looking exactly the same, except minus its innards. Hard life being a welder,.. So I'm told & it may cost me a drink?
I don't know if it would be wise though?
GPR cans could be an idea & the bike can then always be brought back to stock. Though, if I was to spend money, I think I'd go for Zard pipes, because I like the look of them, but then I don't know what they sound like?
Maybe I'll just stick with the big stick?
Have I just gone round in a circle?

Re: Louder Exhaust
F90 has a Zard for sale and it's a bargain! they look and sound awesome, although for the full effect you'll need to get rid of the kitty in the headers. Laser or Remus, or Sanbar can help there.Marrell wrote:I was thinking about making my 1200s sound a bit more meaty, but without spending a lot.
