Brake lines

Yeah, again guys! Of the 1100S variety.
Having done a search, it looks like a double banjo at the master cylinder with 2 hoses appears to be popular. Most likely to the fact that Hel don't have a T piece to use the metal pipe across the wheel.
So, anyone that has done this encounted any problems since the fit?

I got my new lines, same set up as you said but 40mm longer as my bars are above the yoke from bikebitsni on ebay on the bmwr1100 pages, came with HEL stickers and cheaper than HEL`s site, only problem I had was my bike (2000 w) has a bmw easybleed vacuum thingy on one caliper, fitted a std nipple and have had no issues since. I used a stainless clip from work to secure line to middle yoke where the rigid pipe was fixed, if you need a clip pm me and I will send you one.

No problems what so ever, massive improvement over standard

and a 'Hel' of a lot easier to bleed (excuse the pun, shocking I know)

I did it with Venhill.

I raised the clipons and wold recommend +60mm as I went +50 and the hoses are a little tighter than I would like.

When I did my 1100S with Hel they did a short one from left to right calipers and long one back up to the bars work perfectly (no ABS). I connected up and pushed fluid up (using syringe) from the left caliper to the reservoir and that was it, job done

So the order is in. 2 long hoses with a double banjo at the master cylinder.
It looks like a straight forward job with no concern about a hose across the fork.
Got too close to the front forks and the front engine cover and had a look at what I knew was there. What a mess ....... My next job!

Having read the posts on the brake lines, I am needing to replace the lines on my 2004 Boxercup Replika. What are the recommended options for suppliers and best methods of replacing the lines. Is it best to copy the original set up or go for two lines from the master cylinder. I'm open to hear the options from owners that have done the task. Regards Robin.

The twin line setup is the way to go if you are non ABS IMO. Looks neater than the plumbing across the fork brace.
Venhill was my choice, their R1100S non ABS kit +50mm on each line. They are "snug" at this length, but not had any issues with them. +60MM would give more slack.
The only thing to watch out for is that the Venhill kit is supplied with 45 degree banjos. My BMW badged calipers needs 90s. A call sorted this out in no time

In readyness for a change to higher bars I got 2 Goodridge brakelines made up locally. Friction Hydraulics in Oakengates Telford, £40 for 2 lines, 2 banjo bolts for the calipers, double banjo bolt for the master cylinder plus copper washers. They made them up while I waited having measured the standard set up, then added the extra length for the high bars.
Good blokes and good service. Oh and the £40 included a litre of dot 4 fluid as well. They will do mail order to measurements but price will be higher as cash was king yesterday so take a ride over.
