So what kind of car does the avarage BMW Twin sport owner drive.
Just curious.
Mine is a year 2000 Rover 45 - 1.4
A car for me is just an expensive set of waterproofs.
I did have a short lived phase where I became enthusiastic about cars, in particular the Toyota MR2.
I've owned all 3 models.
That was a long time ago.

I used to love interesting cars, but these days its just a box to carry dogs and do the shopping in.
Mine is a baby blue 2010 Fiat Panda, which will be with me till either I expire or petrol runs out. Probably the former

Mines an E46 BMW 330Ci ... although I've got it on a SORN at present as last year I only did 2000 miles MOT to MOT so decided this year not to bother and see if I miss using it

BMW E46 320Ci. Similar mileage to slparry though!

Citroen C4 Coupe 1.6 VTR+

It has a 1.6 Twin stage turbo diesel engine which is also used by Peugeot, Ford, Volvo, Toyota, MINI etc etc. It's an all ally diesel engine (so nice and light) does between 53 and 58 MPG commuting into London from Essex. costs £30 a year Ved and £228 Fully comp insurance. And even though it's front wheel drive does not understeer even in the wet. Ask Sebastian Loeb about Citroen C4's I think he used them for most of his WRC wins.

Early days in this thread so far, but it appears as if two wheels is far more important to most of us than 4

Company VW Passat for me.

40,000 miles a year, approx 30K work and 10K ferrying kids. My 12s is very much a toy for sunny Sundays I am afraid. I only 3K or so on the bike, most of which is compressed into a single week away.

This will likely change when the kids leave in a couple of years.

2004 Vectra - horrible but I need a car for daft o clock starts in winter plus back roads to work are pretty dodgy in winter

MINI Cooper S. Owned from new for 7.5 years now. 10K miles per year. It's our only car so does it all - 3 of us and 2 dogs! I like to enjoy driving as well and this ticks the boxes, and when stuck in traffic watching the bikes sail by the cabin's a nice place to be sat at least. The car's been great but is shite on fuel (av. 31mpg mixed driving) and it's £280 pa to tax! It's making way for a bigger car soon - a Fiesta

I generally do around 14k to 16k in the car and 8k to 10k on the bike. My daily commute is 92 miles round trip and I use both the bike and the car but the car becomes permanant after about mid November and only comes out on dry days during the winter when ther's either no salt on the roads or it has dried out - Bike also gets used for Sunday ride outs and a couple of trips a year (wales this year 898 miles and Ypres about 400 ish I think. This year I lost a months riding due to accident so I picked up the current bike on 13th July and have done 3440 miles since then. I'd find it hard not to own a bike but I don't find it hard to drive car when it's cold and wet.

like others, I used to interested in cars. last decent one was a Caterham 7 that I sold to fund various things including a bike.Now its a 1999 Smart that I imported from Belgium, 90K trouble free miles and an engine half the size of the bike. Comedy understeer most of the time, but brilliant for commuting.
The other is a 2002 diesel Mercedes A class (aka the CrapMobile), without doubt the most troublesome car I have every owned.

usually average 8-10k in the cars and 5-6k on the bike

Current drive is an A class Merc (aka "the shopping trolley") Due to be changed very soon and whilst I have never really been into cars I do fancy something a bit sporty (and impractical) this time around. Better do it soon before its to late
