For Mr Parry - K1200 Slave Cylinder Upgrade...
Steve,
Weren't you after one of these? Or a similar one from a different manufacturer?
http://www.oberon-performance.com/acata ... inder.html
I'm sure I checked their site a few months ago and they did'nt have any for BMWs, but do now.
You think it would be worth a go?

Yes definately!
That's on my list for when I come off my jollies to Porridgeshire at the end of the month! Cheers for that heads up! Are you getting one?
I'm sure it's a lot less than the evoluzione version was
Don't forget K12/13's don't use brake fluid in their clutches they use a special mineral oil

Now do I go for a black one to match the existing engine case or a silver/blue/red/gold/titanium one to proudly show the world my bling?

Thanks for that!
PS ... now that I'm in love with the K again (now that it's back to full power from its previous self restricted version) I don't mind getting it some farkles

I have the tall windscreen on it and wanted to try the short screen in warm weather, got one on ebay last night for 99p!!!

Thinking about it. It looks good for just shy of £100. Get blue!
I'm still a bit disappointed with the K's clutch, so I'm thinking of this and a new set of barnets (??? something like that) plates.
Oh! I was gona bid on that and forgot! I was planning to cut it down though, to try and make the k a little cooler in this weather.

Cool nice to know Greg. It's added to my list of blingy bits wantedDog Tyred wrote:Steve
I had an Oberon slave cylinder upgrade on my RSVR. The quality is excellent and it certainly helped improve the heavy clutch action of the standard kit.
Recommended (for an RSVR anyway).

Oops looks like the minds going already! It was actually an MPL Tuning Parts slave I had, not Oberon. Sozslparry wrote:Cool nice to know Greg. It's added to my list of blingy bits wantedDog Tyred wrote:Steve

mmmm, I may be wrong here, but maybe it's not going to help my problem.
I always thought that the clutch on the K doesn't dis-engage enough -
lever pulled right in to stop, but clutch isn't fully disengaged.
Wouldn't having a larger bore slave cylinder reduce the possible travel (but reduce pressure required)?
Steve, does you bike go from N to 1st without 'jumping' a little?
mine does, and from 2nd to 1st while slowing to a stop, which really annoys me, but my dealer says it's normal.

I've tried all of them. It makes no odds as the stop is on the base of the lever, not the blade that adjusts....
I know most of the K44s had this issue, and it's widly regarded as 'it's just how it is'. Bit annoying for a 10k+ top of the line uber tourer though.
I'm going to see how the finances are later in the year then at least try the Oberon.

Steve,
You bought one yet?
I've tried looking on a few k forums to see if anyone has bought one, but they all seem to be dead forums to me.... not much activity at all.
I was close to buying one the other day (I did a few hours graphic design for a mate and got £100 for it), but my luck was in and I won a ti remus exhaust for £96 on fleabay instead.
Can't wait to hear that inline 4 through it.

Next weeks foray to the Highlands on my K

Pay for the seat recovering on the Funduro from my friendly upholstery guy (£40)
MOT on the K (which may need new tyres (£200) after 1300 miles of Scottish tarmac)
New tyres for the Funduro (£150 I think from M&P)
Replacement rear shock for the Funduro (cheapest is £300 new but I may have found a good used one for £50)
The K will be needing its 30,000 service at Williams ..£200 I guess
The Funduro will be needing its 30,000 service at Gwynfryn BMW £50 I guess.
then "maybe" the clutch slave for the K ...
This motorbike thing gets bloody expensive, just as well I don't have a woman to keep too

"It was only £100 though, and I didn't mean to or expect to win it" didn't help... Still in the bad books....
