Carbon front fender

Post by tanneman »

For the wheel of a R1100S I mean. Gave the bike a wash today and since I had both wheels in the air to give it a really good scrub I noticed that the front fender was out of alignment with the centre line of the tyre. I can only conclude that the motorcycle cover has been pushing against it when it was put away for such a long time. I park the bike with the steering lock on so now I have turned the handle bars the other way. Is there any way of correcting the fender like with the plastic ones by heating it with a hair dryer?

Gotta be worth a try, as the FF is two-ply, plastic inner with a skin of Carbon.

Just don't overdo the heat, or the two layers may separate -and you don't want that happening on the move...
