Nick, I have a C3 as my "going to work" lid - very noisey compared to my Shoei XR1100. The Schuberth appears to be well made and finished off but if I hadn't got this off me mate cheap (don't usually buy 2nd hand lids but I knew its history) I wouldn't have paid £470 for it. I rode 100 miles in Scottland in September with the Shoei without earplugs no probs - couldn't have done that with the Schuberth. Anyone wanna buy a Schuberth cheap? Never been dropped used for maybe 500 miles?

Blimey Dave, food for thought there. Schuberth's big selling point is their 'quitness'. :?

Nick, I think they forget to add "quiet compared to other flip lids". I've never tried any other flip lids so can't comment on that

I paid £100 and I've worn it about 15 times. Not bothered about selling it as I only use it to get to work but if anyone is interested make me an offer.

Local ad. for a BMW System 4 helmet. Looks good for the price, until you find that it is over 8 years old......apparently 3+ years beyond its useful life, according to some. The owner got pissy with me, when I declined to buy it, due to it's age.

Carefully omits the age........

Saw an Arai helmet for sale on UK Ebay, which if you studied the photos carefully - showed the British "kite" mark. God knows how many years old it had to be.......
Others carefully avoid showing that it is a "Snell" tested and not "DOT".

I have a couple of helmets which are 6yrs old, one being Carbonfibre - I'll be getting another 3-4 yrs out of each before replacing :D

Al
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........

See if that works .....

Odd how the age issue only ever seems to apply to ' non-expensive' helmets
I'll be chucking my 'get to work' helmet out next year, my older Arai will stay on top off the wardrobe though!

Reading this thread made me look at the Sharp ratings again. I see that Arai are still struggling with it. One of their helmets only gets a one star rating!!!

Interestingly, the BMW System 5 gets a 5 star rating, whereas the System 6 only gets 4 stars.
