Does anyone know the length needed for "racing" fr

Post by tomodan »

Hi

Hope someone can help me out! I am away from my bike at the moment and have just found out Hel won't send out a set of brake lines without the originals as they have so much trouble with the various setups BMW use!

I can get my wife to send off the ones I have taken off so they can put the correct connectors on but I would also like to switch to a "racing" setup (ie 2 lines direct from master cylinder, one to each calliper) can anyone tell me how long the line to the Left calliper needs to be? Ideally someone who has had a set made would help.

I have also fitted my bars above the top yoke but standard length is fine and I will just add a couple of inches.

Bit desperate as I need to get these ordered ASAP so I have them for the weekend when I am back!

Cheers

You don't say if your bike has ABS or not.
Mine is a 2001 non ABS.
I ordered these:

and specified +50mm on each hose. The only thing to watch is the fitting in to the calipers.
This kit comes with a 45degree banjo fitting. I have the BMW badged Brembos on mine which need full 90degree fittings. A phone call sorted it out.
