Any trixters going to the BMW track day at Snetterton? The weather looks to be good but windy.

A wet start to the day. Came off at about a 110 when Damonace was showing the lines through the corners. In all fairness he was following me at that time and I made a mistake in the wet at Riches. Good video of it. I'm ok, just a busted A-C joint in the right shoulder and the bike has got some cosmetic damage. Nothing serious.

Not good, not good. Get well soon.

If you mean a get off at 110mph, I suppose your injury and light damage to the bike could be considered a "result".

Silver 11S, yes that was me. If I get the video I'll post it. We were going quick for the conditions if you look at it afterwards.

I had a look at the your bike. I like the colgate colour on the 12S. Suits its very well.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Yes. I hope that the shoulder will be ok by then. The missus doesn't like the idea. Best bit, it is her birthday. I invited her to come with for the day but I was turned down.

Gives me a bit of time to fiddle with he bike. See you on the 6th of August. There will again be a few guys from Oakley Motorcycle Club.

Hi Joe,
Glad to hear that you 'aint too banged up. I'm no expert on shoulder injuries (ankle smashes are more my bag) but I bet it has to hurt a bit by now. You did hit hard on the floor (like a sack of spuds going down). Mind you, I stopped paying attention at that point - too busy trying to stop the GS from parking itself between your plums! It occurred to me later that I could'nt have guessed I would have to try and stop an R12GS from a ton while following a sliding SA guy down the track in the rain to the background of a perfectly respectable R1100S doing the samba when I got up on Monday morning! :):)

Given the fact that it was slipperier than a snake oil salesman sliding on snail snot, you were going really well up to then too. Bummer. I would'nt feel abashed about it though, the track was really green - I suspect that there was a vintage race meet before we got there and bikes like the Arial Collander, the Royal Enfield Splasher and the BSA Squirt left all manner of nastiness smeared all over the surface. And then it rained.

The GS was wriggling fit to bust at various points around the lap and thats on Tourances. Not for nothing did I leave the BCR in the pit 'till the afternoon. Pirelli Super-Corsa Diablo's in wet? Not bleedin' likely!

Still, With some money bikes can always be fixed but people not so much and so I'm glad you'll be ok. I did'nt ask, but did your leathers get a pasting too or did the wet save them some?

It was nice to see Andy and some familiar faces from last year there although with my new duties this year (track coach) I was'nt able to spend very long with everyone. Hopefully I'll have a little more time at the next one...

As an aside, I'm putting a few pictures from the day up on the earlier thread in 'Days-Out'..... Feel free to comment/deride/point and laugh as appropriate..

No worries Damon, it certainly provided a lot of laughs back in the garage. It's funny till something goes wrong, then its hilarious. Thanks for showing me the way round Snetterton and its recommended by me to get some instruction at a track. Not just for the speed and correct lines but also for safety regarding the other riders, and it is a lot safer to crash at a track.

The leathers barely show a mark, just the impact on the right thigh and shoulder, gloves is barely scratched (ride recommended Hein-Gericke), same for the boots. Just need to get a new waterproof over jacket.

Reflecting on how well the S crashed (less than £300 damage), I'll be looking at making it more crash compliant in case it happens again (no doubt it will). It has also provided me with the excuse to do some bits and pieces to it that I have put off.

I'll pm you about the mounting of that gear indicator. I like the way you did it.

Hopefully I'll see you all in August.

PS. My luck never seems to run out. Some woman ran up the back of my car at a red traffic light this afternoon. Me and the missus in the car. No injuries, just a scuffed and dented rear bumper. Oh well, that will get sorted.

You should have rolled out the car, and claimed your injuries were caused by the shunt!
