Gus
Very few insurance companies let a rider who doesnt own teh bike ride it...
However thats one of the cool things about ebike. They allow names riders

Gus,

Get them to put you on there insurance..

If your thinking of riding it on your insurance then it will be 3rd party cover only and they MUST have an insurance policy on it as well or your cover isnt valid. (read the small print)

Thing is,even if i insure it as belonging to me.i only want a long weekend policy.
This is proving to be a right pain in the proverbial!

Hi paul
I see where your coming from and i could get cover if the bike was in my name for a month. Its something i wouldnt feel comfortable doing and it seems it would cause a lot of hassle for the owner who is already doing me a favour borrowing me the bike.
The search goes on.

ok mate, best of luck.
Im not aware of this being available unless the policy holder / owmner is with ebike and wants to add another such as yourself.

What are you after? If it came to it then I would be willing to lend you a bike if it helps

I,m off to lemans for the 24 hr.
Some looney has offered me his S for the journey(well i begged him  ).
I want to be fully covered for any eventuality,as i may end up in concrete wellies if it went tits up without the proper cover.

Gus,.. if it's only weekend cover,... Insure it as you would a 'New Bike' but just for the weekend. IF you need to rely on the insurance,... then simply transfere the bike into your name after the event.

If you were a proper scally,.... you could even Insure it in this way on a full year's policy,.. then cancel the policy within the cooling-off period claiming that the 'Sale/Purchase' did not go ahead. (I assume there is a cooling-off period)

I've just waited 7 weeks for the previous owner to transfer the Tiger into my name.
