Post by Lars1974 »

hi all,

here are a few pics I took during dismanteling the bike.
i will start clean up tomorrow and the service on saturday...
i am still a bit unsure about tackling the fuel filter by myself
Also as you can see my K/N airfilter is pretty filthy...what is the best i can clean that with?

enjoy the pics.
thx Lars

ps: Note on one the picture the fine dent I got in my car yesterday by driving backwards into a post!!!

Lars,

The best thing to clean the K&N with is there own product, I cleaned mine with white spirit and then had to buy a new one.

Dont forget to re oil it as well (with threr own product)

PDQ at Taplow are main agents for K&N

Agree with Bob. So easy to use and you just rinse it off in warm water and leave to dry for 24hrs before reoiling. Do not use too much oil - just enough to change the filter to red colour.

It's important to remember that the mechanic needs well lubricating too. This helps to numb the pain from being doubled-over on your hands and knees groping for that 10mm spannah which is always on the wrong side of the bike and trying to reach that nut that just slipped out of your fingers and now rests in a hole between the starter motor and gearbox housing
Well done!
Bailey.

Hi guys,

today my replacement LCD clock arrived...Thanks Chris!

and i thought lets take the bike apart again - I am becoming a master of this by now!

Image

here is the old (broken) LCD clock!

Image

and now finally the new one!

Image

I cheated a bit as i did not take the entire dash out, but it was very easy to change and took all in all about 1 hour!

anyway, no only got the gearbox oil to do and than i may change the brake fluid quickly too...

thats it...

Hi Lars

Keep talking the pictures, and we will have a full visual service document. all you need to do now is, replace the fuel filter, air filter, bleed the brakes etc etc to complete the boxertrix service manual.

Must say good pics.
