Hi Keith

Cheers for asking. The collar came off a week ago and he's hoping for a date that he can start to work with the hospitals blessing.

Overall he's a lot better in himself and pretty mobile.

They have ruled out surgery or traction which is a relief and it looks like progress is being made.

Things still aren't right and it looks like some things never will be. His seventh vertabra is still misplaced and still has a hairline brake that they say is stable but will probably never heal, so you can't help think it makes him more vunerable to future damage. Because of this I don't think he'll ever be on a bike again, even the thought of putting a helmet on frightens him. He also has no feeling in his right hand.

On the upside he can move everything, and although he still get s a bit of pain in his neck it appears to be getting stronger and more mobile.

I'll pass on your regards!

Well - some good news today. Dad went to see the spinal surgeon who was very positive. He said the bone is healing but slowly. He said it may never heal fully but overall he's at no greater risk that before his crash. So he got the green light to start working again and resume normality.

So its just a case of him taking it easy and building up the muscles in his neck, arms and wrist.

Overall though it looks like the light at the end of the tunnel is well and truly in sight....just need the MIB to come up trumps now :?

Ta for all your support, and advice since October!
