12 months and 9000 miles later, now I am the only Steve with a R1100S in St Helens.

I'm happy with the R1100S. Reading the treads here have given me the impression that the bike is fragile, and I'm waiting for the shaft / telebearings / battery / fuel pump / clutch / gearbox to fall apart at any minute. :? Touch wood, all I've replaced in the last year are the tyres/ spark plugs/pads / airfilter and oil (20w/50 of course) It's not too thirsty on oil, and the vibs don't bother me.

I've got so used to it, the FJR can confuse me. Approach a left turn, and I'm pressing the horn, and then wondering how to stop the indicators with my right thumb.

Can't say I'm too happy with the finish  I've tried fairly hard, but I've missed the areas behind the disk mounts, and the paint is peeling off :!: It's also peeling off the engine in places if I look closely

Steve, you need to put chalk marks down so the continuity girl can do her stuff, I reckon the back of the bike is further in to the wall in the second picture by a foot

Seriously though, what do you reckon of the Vario Screen? Also it would seem that the finish can be really variable, or maybe its the owners, mines a 2000 mod 30k, had 4 previous, but there isnt peeling anywhere apart from under the engine

timbox2,

The original screen had some marks, and cracks around the mounting points, so I changed it. I've not noticed any improvement with the Vario. I've changed the angle of the small screen, and not really noticed any difference. I was hoping for some improvement :!:
