Quick tyre size question

Quicky for R1100S know-it-alls.

I have a 2000 R1100S and am just about to order a new set of tyres. However I do not have the bike with me right now (in for service) so cannot check the correct sizes.

I seem to remember that the front is 120/70 x 17in but can't for the life of me remember the rear size :oops: (I do not have the fancy 5.5in rear). My guess is that it is 170/60 x 17in.

Can anyone confirm the right sizes for front and rear?

I'm planning on getting some BT021s but am happy for advice on a good tyre that grips in the wet and won't square off too much after my many many motorway miles - I commute about 400 miles a week.

Cheers!

MichelinPilot Road 2 CT - outstanding.

I have the 180 rear. Sizes are:

f = 120 / 70 ZR17
r = 180 / 55 ZR17

If you have the 5" rim, the correct sizes are 120/70-17 and 170/60-17.

If you have the 5.5" rim, the correct sizes are 120/70-17 and 180/55-17.

Do not mount a 180/55 on a 5" rim; it is too small, altering the arc of the tire which will have negative effects on handling and grip (smaller contact patch)

I've had BT 020's previously, now on Michelin Pilot Road 2 CT which I find to be much better in all conditions.
