Mad Bomber

I see another letter bomb this morning, this time to the offices of the DVLA, another innocent employee injured. If you're not up to date with this the last bomb went to a company that makes speed cameras and the one before to the outfit that administers the congestion charge for TFL.

the BBC website had the following quote:
Nigel Humphries, from the Association of British Drivers, told BBC Radio Five Live he was "appalled" by what appeared to be linked attacks.

"In fact, it makes us feel a bit guilty that we haven't campaigned hard enough on the legitimate front against the things that we oppose, to do with criminalising and bullying motorists, and because of our failure to campaign hard enough, somebody's had to resort to this."

Someone obviously got unhinged after one speed ticket too many. The sooner they get caught the better but it does highlight how deeply pissed off a lot of motorists about the way they are being treated.

The problem with this individual(s) campaign is that it is now diverting much needed and over stretched resources who should be looking at international terrorism plots and plans against the UK on a large scale. There is now the risk that the anti-terrorism guys will have their efforts diverted and something far worse could get through the net. I hope this person or persons consider this fact.

Sorry - minor rant over.

On the other hand it could be a terrorist plot tying up the Police etc prior to a bigger offensive.
We should always be suspicious and not just when a bomb goes off.
The past and still present terrorist troubles in Northern Ireland, although much improved, should have stood us in good stead but looks like the home land has tamed down a bit.

The only thing that surprises me about the whole speed camera, congestion charge, petrol tax rises, Treasury revenue generation farce is that there has not been more direct action.

Brits seem to moan or be apathetic and accept whatever imposition the govenment decide. A bit of French militancy would not go amiss to wake up the government.

Wicker, you are right about the low amount of direct action. Of course there are some areas of the UK where a fixed camera wouldn't last a day without being totally destroyed.
Whoever sent the bomb needs locking up without a doubt.
No room in the jails though for the rapists pedophile sickies apparently, so probably 2 years suspended and 200 hours community service.
Mind you, I'm not about to cancel my Council Tax direct debit to find out for certain as they might find space for me!
