In the interests of starting a new thread free of sport/touring and mpg. I've moved to Sarf Landan innit
Anyone recommend any good riding routes around Kent/Sussex as Essex is now a long way away.
Every time I've ventured into this bit of the world, there is a lot of traffic..

I get as low as 90 miles to the light and sometimes up to 150, I don't care if my wife is comfy on the back as she prefers the car now anyway etc. etc. no, no, no, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrghhhhhhhh

I like West Sussex (on and around A272)...and then beyond to Dorset Coast...
Sigh.
On the other hand I was quite impressed with how quickly I got out of town the other week when we met at the Polish War Memorial and went Northampton way...
NEVER take the South Circular through Brixton & Streatham, to Gatwick, Brighton, etc. Unless you really, really must.

PM me with your email address and I will send you some routes in PDF that my local Kent IAM group uses for group runs around Kent. These routes are for Associates to get some practice from but you can follow them and then make your own routes from them.
I also have some routes that I have made up myself.
I live on the border of SE London and Kent in Sidcup.

A272 is a must.
Also head down to Camber Sands direction and head towards, Rye, Battle, Lewis then Brighton and beyond, found some very pleasant roads.
