Hi guys, i have a year 2000 R1100ss and am looking to purchase a staintune exhaust. Does anyone know if the design has changed at all so that a staintune that was on a year 2004 model would or would not fit my 2000 model.
Also, having spoken to the importer and checked out the staintune website my understanding is that they are designed to work without any additional chips or PC111. can anyone confirm this from experience? i don't want to end up with a bike running too rich/lean. In an ideal world i would fit a PC111 and get the fueling spot on but but it all comes down to money ( or lack of ).
thanks
John

John,
The Staintune system will fit all 1100S's regardless of age. The exhaust was changed in 2005 but still fits every year of 'S'.
As regards chips, yes you can run it without, although if you run other mod's like induct, K&N flter, SJ powerfilter then you might want to look into it. I ran a F.I.M (Ultimap) chip with mine as I had these mod's.
I think there is one for sale on this site, it was mine which I sold to Ian brand new and who then sold it on. It is the new revised design.
