...I was reading a few threads on throttle bodies balancing and need to do mine...Is there any way you could explaine how to do it with a carbtune as everybody seems to have twinmax and not many with carbtunes.
Spoke to darren at motorworks and he said via the 2 big brass screws on them...but people keep saying about doing it via the cables....and what value are we looking for on the scale on the gauges...
Sorry to be a pain but i just dont know and want to learn...

If you do a search You will find the exact details but briefly , before you attempt to balance you need to be sure the valve clearances are spot on.
Connect the carbtune as per its instructions to the connections under the throttle bodies(after removing the little rubber blanking plugs)
The brass air screws are really only used for setting the idle speed .
Basically slacken the throttle cables so that they have no effect and tweak the brass screws if necessary to adjust the idle speed(1100rpm ) while keeping the carbtune readings equal (the actual reading isn't important)
Then tighten the ll/h cable adjuster until the reading on the carbtune (l/h)changes and back it off slightly.(and lock the adjuster with the nut) repeat on the r/h side. You are attempting to get the throttle bodies to open at the same time. Then when you are happy with the readings and both cable adjusters are secure, hold the engine revs at approx 2500rpm and check that the carbtune readings are equal. If not either tighten or loosen
the r/h cable to balance it to the left. This may take some time so don't let the engine overheat. If you can find someone (with knowledge) to help you all the better . Basically though when balanced with the engine off there should only be one audible click as the throttle bodies hit their stops.
(all should be done in conjunction with the service manual , and don't adjust the physical stop screws)
