What's this????

Probably a dumb question, but what's that air-scoop for on the nearside front? Is it for air-flow or is it for something else like a lighting-aperture?

I think it was originally going to be the air intake, but they changed the design to the current snorkel design (the one we all want to replace with a Lennies induct.

It's the hole for the Flux Capacitor...or at least Dr Brown told me it was.

Maybe I could modify the ionospheric modulators to create a flux in the time-warp continuum. Got to be worth another 3bhp?

I thought it was to optimise the fuel consumption by cooling the outer surface of the fuel cell? Cool fuel gives better mpg.
