Slippin' and slidin'

Post by throttlemeister »

For a time I wondered about what all the complaints about slipping and sliding over the saddle were all about, but now that I have a pair of new leather pants I found out what all the fuss is about.

Anyone have any tips and tricks to make the combination of leather + seat a less slippery one?

There is a rubbery mesh you can get to stop slippage. I've got one for the pillion seat but cant recall its brand name.

I've got one for the front seat if you're interested, for a small fee  Drop me a PM.

When I first got the bike I had real problems with the slippery seat. The "Triboseat" covers as they are known work really well but do look a bit naff!

Eventually I got hold of a spare seat and had it recovered by a guy in the UK with a rubberised vinyl that has permanently solved the problem for us. I've posted on this before.

Kind regards,
Bob

I found that when I raised my bars I was slightly more upright. I had more weight on my bum and less on my arms. It reduced the slippery effect.

Cant say I've even noticed it.
I tend to hold he tank with my knees and ride with little weight through my backside, bit like a jockey. I feel far more in control over the bumps, through the air.
