Contractors? Pah! Scum of the earth.....

Agh, I've crumbled, I've taken the Queen's shilling (so to speak)!
On returning from my last trip down South I find a letter waiting for me telling me that they've made my position permanent!
Not only that but they've given me a grade rise (these things are important) and a chunk of money extra too!
So in just less than 18 months I've managed to add about £4K to my income and got paid holidays chucked in to boot - though nigh on 20 years of contracting means I'm likely to not take them until the end of the tax year when someone will force them on me! Also I'm far too busy to take holidays
So from facing the boot near Christmas for about the fifth year in a row I now have that false sense of security provided by staff positions where you never know when the axe may fall
