Spotted a Yellow 1200S parked outside the cafe in Hawes yesterday morning, but didn't manage to spot the owner ........ anyone off this site?

I didn't have any calling cards otherwise I'd have left one on the bike.

It was about 10:30 in the morning, when I was fueling up with a bacon sarnie!

Just returned from an impromptu scoot round the Dales, Lake District and the bits between. The S was a hoot, even lugging panniers. Funny how bombing round the countryside reduces furry fastener angst.

Spotted a black R1200S parked up in a town somewhere en route from Swaledale to Ripon.

Also bumped into an S owner in the Donnington Services on the way back - anyone here?

You guys up north have some serious, serious biking roads. Must do it more often.

Black 1200s may have been mine.
Leyburn? Approx 2 ish?

Went on a jaunt from Skipton, to Harrogate, Ripon, Helmsley, Pickering, Whitby, Stokesley, Northallerton, Leyburn, Hawes, Devils Bridge, Settle etc.

Sounds about right. Well if you saw a grubby silver S with panniers following a blue VFR800 that was me.:D

Ade

(ps I was obviously only following the VFR 'cos he knew the way to Ripon, as we all know S's are faster than VFRs...)

Of course :)

Did you go via Masham to Ripon? Great road, if a bit poorly surfaced in places.

My favouite road in that whole area runs from Settle, to the Ribblehead viaduct, then to Hawes and accross to Leyburn. Wonderful.
