Does anybody know what size the bolts are that go into the bottom of the frame that the centre stand rests against when the stand is in use?
I recently purchased a 2nd hand centre stand and it was only recently when I saw the frame being dented that I realsied that bolts need to be used to protect the frame.

Must be countersunk though to fit the outside of the stand, with the bearing fitted from the inside

Just got round to getting the M8 bolts - now I know what the pollava is about the bike being unstable when on the centre stand!
I am thinking of grinding down the bolt head a bit to see if this helps the bike sit a bit more solid. May go back to using the side stand.

Shouldn't be unsteady unless you've got the short swing arm brace on.
have you put the bolts in far enough?

As far as they can go. I remember reading on another thread that the centre stand is not that stable on the 1100S and it only taks a little push of the finger to make it move. This I have found to be the case.

As Harry mentioned, it shouldn't be too unstable if the bolts are screwed in fully - assuming, of course, the new bolts you bought don't have thicker heads than the originals. I find the bike needs a good shove to get it off the stand.
