Just fitted new tyres.
Had quick ride on bike, ABS light keeps flashing at me.
I have had this problem before, just turned the ignition on off
that usually queue the problem but not this time.

I think I'd must have done something, whilst changing tyres.
Any ideas??.

Also, is their issue with the ABS
mine is a 2000 model.
.
any advice would be appreciated.

Speedmachine,

Have you checked the gap between the ABS ring and the sensor at the bottom of the nearside fork leg? Could be out of tollerance after removing and refitting the wheel? There should be a feeler gauge in the underseat tool tray to check the gap.

Cheers,

Paul

When my ABS was working (in the dim distant past  ) I would often get the lights staying on if I started the engine too soon after turning on the ignition - I seem to remember it was documented somewhere - so I always left 2-3 secs before starting up after turning on.

Also had the ABS lights stay on after someone ran the bike in gear on the centre stand and had to get them reset by BMW.

SM,

If you have an old (1999 - 2001?) ABS bike with the toothed sensor ring (rather than the pressed tin plate ring with holes) the gap should be between 0.45 and 0.55 mm

Thanks for advice

Whilst out on bike yesterday.
It soared itself out don't know what was going on.
At least they are not flashing any more.
Because, it is so frustrating.
